European Coalition of Cities against Racism (ECCAR)

ECCAR is a network of more than 150 European cities exchanging best pracitices to combat racism. Launched by UNESCO in 2004 with the aim to strengthen the role of cities that are interested in sharing their experiences in order to improve their policies to fight racism on a local level to create #citiesforusall.

We believe that the only way to combat racism is through connection. Together, armed with knowledge and experience, we have the power to transform cities into safe and inclusive spaces for all of us. In times of growing globalization and urbanization cities are a key factor in ensuring that all their citizens, regardless of their nationality, ethnic, cultural, religious or social origin, can live in dignity, security and justice.
